What is the STEM Enrichment Requirement?

All students who are currently taking or will take either a math or science course are required to attend only one STEM Studio event during the school year.

When are these nights?

All nights are held from 5:30 until 7:30. See reverse for available dates.

Will there be food?

Pizza will be provided for all students who RSVP before the event through the student portal. Food does not cost anything for students of Hope High School or any other Blueprint Education school.

Do I need parental permission?

Parental permission is NOT required to participate as long as your parent/guardian has completed the Title I Compact.

Can I bring guests?

Guests may attend however, they are asked to make a small $3 donation to cover costs (goes directly to help pay for food).

Does this count for a grade?

This will account for part of a student's final grade based on participation in the event. All students who are either in a math or science course will need to, at some point before credit is issued, participate in a STEM Night. What percentage of the final grade that is, will be at the teacher's discretion.

I’m taking both a science and a math class. Do I have to go to two nights?

In short, no. You are always welcome to attend more but one night per academic year will count for all STEM classes with that requirement.

I absolutely cannot participate in events after school, like ever. What about me?

Students who are unable to attend will need to complete an alternative assignment. Students who cannot attend a STEM Studio event will need to complete a 7 page, double spaced research paper on a STEM topic. The student will be given a choice of teacher selected topics. Grading will be at the teacher’s discretion based on accurate paper content and format followed. If you will need to take advantage of this alternative assignment, speak with your teacher as soon as possible.
